The German artist group Querschlag was founded in Chemnitz on April 8, 2003 through the merger of Dirk Hanus (photography), Michael Knauth (conceptual art), Peter Piek (until 2006 Peter Piechaczyk, painting / music) and Michael Goller (painting).

"In particular, through the targeted bundling of the most varied of contemporary artistic positions and tendencies, new creative forces are set free and a contemporary, unencumbered discussion of the content is possible in the first place."
