Peter Piek
Peter Piek (born April 3, 1981 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a German painter , songwriter , multi-instrumentalist and performance artist .
painting
From 2002 to 2006 Piek studied painting / graphics at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig with Sighard Gille . In 2003 he and Michael Goller initiated the independent artist initiative Malfront .
Pieks works are shown in solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. In his pictures, the two-dimensional rhythm and a dissolution in spots of pure color dominate. The art scholar Ina Gille wrote in 2005 about his work: "A garden designed with drawings and paintings, melodically rhythmically structured, as if someone were dancing across the canvases, and even dares to portray himself as a rock star, a dream image without irony, open, relaxed."
