Kōsuke Kitani ( Japanese 木谷 公 亮 Kitani Kōsuke ; born October 9, 1978 in Chiba Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Kitani learned to play soccer on the school team at Shutoku High School and the college team at Kokushikan University . He signed his first contract in 2001 with the Omiya Ardija . The club played in the second highest league in the country, the J2 League . In 2004 he was runner-up in the J2 League with the club. For the club he completed 46 league games. In 2005 he moved to league rivals Vegalta Sendai . In 2009 he became champions of the J2 League with the club. For the club he completed 159 league games. In 2010 he moved to league rivals Sagan Tosu . In 2011 he was runner-up in the J2 League with the club and was promoted to the J1 League . For the club he completed 75 league games. In 2013 he moved to the second division club FC Gifu . For the club he completed 42 league games. At the end of 2014, he ended his career as a football player.
