Kōtarō Yamazaki ( Japanese 山崎 光 太郎 Yamazaki Kōtarō ; born October 19, 1978 in Shizuoka Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Yamazaki learned to play soccer on the school team at Shimizu Higashi High School . He signed his first contract in 1997 with the Nagoya Grampus Eight . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . In 2001 he switched to Shimizu S-Pulse . In 2001 he won the Kaiser Cup with the club . For the club he completed nine first division games. In 2003 he moved to the second division Ventforet Kofu . At the end of the 2005 season, the club rose to the J1 League. For the club he completed 73 league games. At the end of 2007 he ended his career as a football player.
