kk Presidency of the Council of Ministers
The Imperial Council of Ministers Presidium was after the Austro-Hungarian settlement from 1867 to 1918 in the represented in the Reichsrat kingdoms and lands of Austria-Hungary , the official name for the ministry which the Emperor appointed by Prime Minister assisted in his tasks. The government responsible for these countries met at the seat of the Imperial and Royal Council of Ministers Presidium in Vienna , at that time known as the General Ministry.
The office was located in Vienna 1st, Bankgasse 10 from 1867 to 1872, and from 1872 to 1918 in the Palais Modena in Vienna 1st, Herrengasse 7, today the seat of the Austrian Ministry of the Interior. Unless they were entrusted with special offices, Imperial and Royal Ministers without a portfolio also had their seat here. In 1918, Heinrich Lammasch was the last Prime Minister .
The seat of the Imperial and Royal Council of Ministers' Presidium became after the dismissal of the last imperial government on November 11, 1918, by the German-Austrian State Chancellery formed on October 30, 1918 (see Renner I State Government etc.) and by the Federal Chancellery from November 10, 1920 taken by the Republic of Austria , which had its seat in the Palais Modena until 1923. Since then, with the exception of the Nazi era, 1938–1945 , the building has been used as the seat of the ministry.
