KAV Mansfelder Land
The KAV Mansfelder Land , officially the Martial Arts and Athletics Association Mansfelder Land eV , is a wrestling club from Lutherstadt Eisleben in Saxony-Anhalt .
The first wrestling club was founded in Eisleben in 1914 and existed until 1945. After the Second World War, the wrestlers formed a section at the BSG Mansfeld Kombinat Eisleben . In 1990 the Eisleber wrestling club Olympia was founded, from which the KAV Mansfeld emerged in 1993.
In 2010 the KAV was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. After a 3rd place in 2011/12, the club rose to the 1st Bundesliga as runner-up in the northern season in 2012/13. There the team managed to stay up in the first season. Overall, the team was able to stay in the 1st Bundesliga for three years before being relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. After the 2016/17 season they decided to join the new season of the German Ringer League, where they will compete under the name KAV Eisleben . The club's second team competes as KAV Mansfelder Land II in the Saxony-Anhalt regional league.
