KBC tape

The KBC Band was formed in 1985 by Paul Kantner (guitar, vocals), Marty Balin (vocals, guitar) and Jack Casady (bass), all founding members of the Jefferson Airplane band . Keith Crossan (saxophone, guitar, vocals), Tim Gorman (keyboard, vocals), Mark "Slick" Aguilar (guitar, vocals) and Darrell Verdusco (drums) were also there.

Their only, only moderately successful album KBC Band was released in 1986. The song America contained on it was a minor hit and was played frequently after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 . The track It's Not You, It's Not Me was also a minor hit. In 1987 the band broke up again.

Kantner and Casady played together at Hot Tuna in the following time , Kantner until 1988, Casady was part of the regular cast. In 1989 there was a brief reunion of Jefferson Airplane, in which Tim Gorman also played. 1992 Kantner revived the Jefferson Airplane successor band Jefferson Starship as "Jefferson Starship - The Next Generation", actually a variant of the KBC band without Crossan and Verdusco. The latter joined Starship in 2008, another successor band to Jefferson Airplane.
