The KMS VT1 was a railcar of the Deutsche Eisenbahn-Betriebsgesellschaft (DEBG). It was used as a solo vehicle on the Münstertal Railway from 1933 . He has reached a seniority of 30 years and is no longer available today. The establishment number was based on the DEBG designation scheme .

History and commitment

The railcar with the serial number 3047 was always used on the Münstertalbahn.

T 201 / VT 7

The railcar put into service as KMS VT1 was called T 201 until 1956. Only then did it receive DEBG's own designation VT 7 . Since the attempts with a former suction gas multiple unit on the Münstertalbahn did not prove successful, the company procured this vehicle in 1933. All that is known about his missions is that from 1955 he handled all passenger traffic on the route with an Esslingen railcar with number VT 104 .

SWEG VT 7

In 1963 the railcar became part of the SWEG and retained its last name there. In 1964 he was involved in an accident and was retired in the same year.

After him, another railcar had the DEBG designation VT 7. But this was a MAN rail bus . It was procured in 1966 and initially operated on the Krebsbachtalbahn .

Constructive features

It had an axle base of 5.5 meters and a wheel diameter of 730 millimeters. The version without pulling and buffing device is documented ; in 1961 it can still be seen in this form in photographs.

The railcar corresponded to a lightweight construction due to its frame design. It was powered by a four-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine OM 65 from Mercedes-Benz . Its engine output was 48 kW (65 hp). The power was transmitted via the Mylius gearbox and an axle reversing gearbox, which was provided with a torque bracket. The car body was heated with a hot water heater, which was designed so that an inside temperature of +20 ° C could be reached at an outside temperature of −20 ° C.
