KSG Saarbrücken

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the 1943/44 season, the Saarbrücken war syndicate was a syndicate made up of the two Saarbrücken football clubs FV Saarbrücken and SC Altenkessel .

The war syndicate of the two clubs was founded after the FV Saarbrücken had lost its club house and all equipment in a bomb attack. She took over the place of the FVS in the Gauliga Westmark and became the undefeated champion in the Gauliga Westmark in 1943/44 and thus qualified for the German championship . With victories over Göppinger SV (5: 3 in Stuttgart) and FC Mülhausen 93 (5: 3 at home Kieselhumes) the team reached the quarter-finals. There, however, 1. FC Nürnberg was a size too big. Against the Franks it was a 1: 5 home bankruptcy. With this defeat, the history of KSG Saarbrücken came to an end, as regular gaming operations came to a standstill from the summer of 1944.

After the Second World War , both clubs went their separate ways again.
