history
The club was founded in 1907 as SV Borussia Altenkessel and took its current name in 1910. In 1912, FC 1905 Neudorf joined the club. Between October 17, 1943 and 1945, SC Altenkessel and FV Saarbrücken , the forerunner of today's 1. FC Saarbrücken , formed the Saarbrücken war gaming community . On December 8, 1946, SC Altenkessel was re-established as SV Altenkessel , before the club name was changed back to SC 07 Altenkessel in 1950.
In terms of sport, the club first drew attention to itself in 1942, when it prevailed in the promotion round to Gauliga Westmark and rose to the top class. With only two wins, the direct relegation followed as bottom of the table. For the 1943/44 season the Altenkesseler entered a war syndicate (KSG) with the FV Saarbrücken after the FVS clubhouse fell victim to a bomb attack and the Saarbrückers lost all their equipment. Athletic KSG was successful and secured the unbeaten Gaumeisterschaft 1944. In the final round of the German championship was after victories over the SV Göppingen and FC Mulhouse 93 reached the quarter-finals, where the team with 1: 5 against 1. FC Nuremberg lost .
After the end of the Second World War , the SC rose to the honor league in 1950 and qualified a year later for the II. Southwest Division. After two years in the second highest division, he was relegated to the Saarland amateur league . In 1961 he was relegated to the fourth-class district league, which was followed three years later by the fall in the district league. Altenkessel only returned to the district league in 1974 and returned to the Saarland association league in 1982. In 1987 he was relegated to the regional league and five years later he was relegated to the district league, before the SC had to relegate to the district league again in 1994.
