The Ka'ala ([ kəˈʔɐlə ]) is the highest point on the island of Oahu in the Hawaiian archipelago .
It belongs to the Wai'anae Range , an eroded shield volcano , in the west of the island and reaches a height of 1220 m above sea level. In the immediate vicinity of the summit are the Schofield Barracks , a facility of the US Army , which can be reached via a paved road starting from Waialua on the northwest coast of Oahu.
