The cabaret Dietrich & Raab is a political-satirical duo from Rostock . Members are Christopher Dietrich (* 1979) and Erik Raab (* 1980).

The programs consist of word and music elements. In terms of content, the cabaret artists deal with political issues, but usually forego dealing with individual politicians or other typical satirical relatives. Characteristic for the group are the high speed, the numerous historical allusions as well as an increasing ironization and reflection of the cabaret genre itself. Numerous reviews also refer to the “black humor” of the texts.

Dietrich and Raab are co-founders of the cabaret prize Der Rostocker Koggenzieher .

history

Erik Raab and Christopher Dietrich were co-founders of the Rostocker Heiden youth cabaret in 1994 and played here until the group broke up in June 1998. From 1997 to 2001 Dietrich also directed the youth cabaret Mockery .

Between 2000 and 2002 both played in the Rostock student cabaret ROhrSTOCK and had around 150 gigs here. There were also several guest tours abroad: France (Paris, Valenciennes, Lille, Rouen, Vieux-Condé), Great Britain (Kingston upon Hull), USA (Ann Arbor (MI), St. Louis (MO), Knoxville (TN) , Columbia (SC), Charlotte (NC), Boone (NC), Durham (NC), Oxford (OH)).

In July 2002 they left ROhrSTOCK and founded the cabaret Dietrich & Raab. So far (as of March 2018) they have given around 900 appearances in Germany and Austria in this constellation.
