history

In 1953 the mechanical engineering company WaldrichSiegen registered a patent for the energy chain invented by its head of development, Gilbert Waninger. In the following year Kabelschlepp, newly founded as a subsidiary of Waldrich, was the first company to bring energy chains (initially made of steel or stainless steel) onto the market. From 1969, all -plastic energy chains followed .

According to its own information, Kabelschlepp had more than 800 employees worldwide in 10 branches and partners in over 40 countries.

At the beginning of July 2007 it became known that Kabelschlepp GmbH is relocating its headquarters from Siegen to Wenden in the neighboring Sauerland . Kabelschlepp GmbH is one of the largest employers in the municipality of Wenden.

In 2011 Kabelschlepp was taken over by the Japanese company Tsubakimoto Chain Co. and has been called Tsubaki Kabelschlepp since January 1, 2012.

Field of activity
