history

The theater in Graz was founded by Julia Reichert and Christopher Widauer in 1989. Since 1996 the Kabinetttheater has been located in a loft in Vienna's Porzellangasse. In addition to the performances in the permanent venue, the ensemble is also on the road for various national and international guest performances.

Productions

The productions of the Kabinetttheater provide a wide range of puppet theater variants. Puppet shows, musical performances, spoken and narrative theater are often combined. The annually recurring staging of Hugo Ball's Dadaist “Nativity Scene. Concert bruitiste, accompanying the Gospel text “has become an integral part of the cabinet theater. The theater is also known for its repertoire of mini dramas , which includes over 40 pieces. The staging of these short pieces is based on theater texts by playwrights such as HC Artmann , Konrad Bayer , Wolfgang Bauer , Franz Grillparzer or Daniil Charms .
