Kacou Houadja Léon Adom

Kacou Houadja Léon Adom (born April 16, 1950 in Abengourou ) is a diplomat from the Ivory Coast .

Life

From 1977 to 1984 he worked as a consultant at the Embassy of the Ivory Coast in Tokyo , Japan . In 1984 he returned to the Ivory Coast and worked until 1986 as deputy head of the human resources department in the management of the financial administration in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Ivory Coast in Abidjan . This was followed by an assignment as chief of staff in the Ministry of Primary Education until 1990.

From 1991 until 1993 he was director of the finance administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the rank of ambassador. He was also an inspector for diplomatic and consular missions. He held the function of inspector until 1996. From 1995 to 1996 he was also acting director of the Department of America and Oceania of the State Department.

From 1997 to 2005 he was the Ivory Coast Ambassador to Israel and from 1998 also to Turkey , based in Tel Aviv . In March 2006 he became cabinet director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Ivory Coast in Abidjan. From April 2008, he was deployed as an ambassador in Germany based in Berlin . He was also accredited as an ambassador in Poland , Romania , the Czech Republic and Hungary .

In September 2017, he became Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Ivory Coast, before becoming his country's permanent representative to the United Nations in June 2018 .

education

He obtained a Masters degree in English from Abidjan University . He majored in diplomacy at the National School of Administration in Abidjan. He graduated from the International Institute of Public Administration in Paris , the Center for International Studies at the University of Tokyo and the Public School of National Administration in Québec .

Practical training periods have taken him to the French Foreign Ministry , the OECD and UNESCO in Paris, as well as the French embassies in Wellington in New Zealand and in Canberra in Australia .

Personal

Kacou Houadja Léon Adom is married and has three children. He speaks English , French , Japanese and Spanish .
