Kadir Has (actually Kadir Hasoğlu) (* 1921 in Kayseri ; † March 22, 2007 in Istanbul ) was a Turkish entrepreneur.

life and career

Kadir Has was born in Kayseri in 1921, the son of Nuri and Zekiye Hasoğlu. In 1942 he successfully graduated from Boğaziçi High School. Kadir Has married Rezan Gemirli in 1942, daughter of the well-known Germirli family living in Kayseri. His father Nuri Hasoğlu was the founder of many companies such as the Turkish bank Akbank .

Initially in the automotive industry, Kadir Has quickly achieved a respected place among businessmen in Istanbul. Kadir Has founded the Mercedes bus and truck factory in Turkey , on whose board he was represented for many years. The establishment of the first Coca-Cola factory in Turkey was also one of his successes. With the Koç family , Kadir Has founded another factory in the Turkish city of Bursa , which specialized in producing the brand's minibuses. He took over the representation of the French tire manufacturer Michelin in Turkey. Kadir Has was Akbank's largest shareholder after the Sabancı family.
