Kaeso Quinctius Claudus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kaeso Quinctius Claudus was a Roman statesman around 270 BC. Chr.

According to the consular fasts , his father's name was Lucius and his grandfather's name was Gnaeus . He reached the consulate with Lucius Genucius Clepsina in 271 ; Events from the year are not recorded.

He cannot be put into contact with the former members of the gens Quinctia . The rare prenomen Kaeso was only used by a few families; among the Quinctiern the son of the famous Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus has been handed down. Titus Livius names a Kaeso Quinctius Flamininus as duumvir aedi locandae for the year 217 , who was to commission the construction of the Concordia temple with his colleague . Due to the rare given name, this could be a grandson of Claudus, whose brother Titus Quinctius Flamininus could in turn have been the father of the famous liberator of Greece of the same name .
