Kafr Nabl ( Arabic كفرنبل Kafranbel , DMG Kafr Nabil ) is a small Syrian town in the Idlib governorate .

Kafranbel was built on one of the Dead Cities and is now the largest fig producer in Syria. Around 778,000 fig trees are cultivated on around 3700 hectares. Around 60% of the population is engaged in the cultivation and processing of the fruit.

During the civil war , Kafranbel, a stronghold of the insurgents, became famous for satirical videos.

According to reports from the opposition, Kafranbel has been repeatedly targeted by the Assad regime and its Russian allies.

On February 25, 2020, the city was captured by Syrian government forces.
