Kai Eide

Kai Eide

Kai Eide (born February 28, 1949 in Sarpsborg ) is a Norwegian diplomat . From 2008 to 2010 he was Head of the Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) of the United Nations .

Between October 1989 and November 1990 he worked as State Secretary in the Statsministerenskontor . From 1998 to 2002 he was Norway's ambassador to the CSCE . In 1999 he was Chairman of the Permanent Council of the CSCE. After that he was the permanent representative of his country to NATO until 2006 . He is one of the authors of the Mitchell Report .
