Kai Lämmerhirt

Kai Lämmerhirt (* 1973 ) is a German ancient orientalist .

Kai Lämmerhirt studied Ancient Near Eastern Studies, Medieval History and Ancient History at the University of Jena from 1994 to 2001 . In 2001 he completed his studies with a master’s degree and in 2005 became a research associate in sub-area B4 / III “State control of open space - nomadic control of the state” of the Collaborative Research Center 586 “Difference and Integration” of the German Research Foundation at the University of Leipzig . A year later, he did his doctorate on the subject of truth and deception. Studies on the ancient oriental concept history at the University of Jena. In 2008 Lämmerhirt became a research assistant at the chair for ancient oriental studies at the University of Göttingen , and in 2010 in Jena. In the 2015/16 winter semester, Markus Hilgert was appointed to the professorship for Assyriology with a focus on Sumerology at Heidelberg University . Lämmerhirt's research focuses on the Sumerian literature of the ancient Babylonian period.
