Großmicketal nature reserve
The nature reserve Großmicketal is 135.54 ha large nature reserve (NSG) east of the village Ottfingen in the community of Wenden in Olpe district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It was designated in 2008 by the district council with the landscape plan No. 4 Wenden - Drolshagen . The NSG consists of three areas, the federal highway 45 and the highway 905 subdivide the NSG.
Area description
The NSG is a Bachtal complex with near-natural source areas, broken forests and wet grassland. The NSG is a breeding, migratory and wintering area for rare and endangered bird species, especially meadow breeders and other open land species such as common snaps , whinchat , skylark , lapwing , wheatear , reed bunting and meadow pipit . There are rare plants such as fever clover , narrow-leaved cottongrass and spotted orchid .
