Biggetal nature reserve

The Biggetal nature reserve is a 35.35 hectare nature reserve (NSG) in the municipality of Wenden in the Olpe district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It was designated in 2008 by the district council with the landscape plan No. 4 Wenden - Drolshagen . The NSG consists of three areas. In the north of the NSG, the federal motorway 45 is just a few meters away.

Area description

The NSG consists of three parts of the Biggetal. These are the near-natural Bigge (river) and the floodplain. On the Bigge there are wooded borders and wet grassland complexes. Habitat-typical plant species such as swamp blood-eye and swamp violet and animal species such as kingfisher and brown trout occur.
