Naruse started in Otoineppu in December 2005 for the first time in the Far East Cup and finished 57th place over 7.5 km freestyle and 54th place over 7.5 km classic. At the beginning of the 2014/15 season he achieved his first podium finish in the Far East Cup with third place over 10 km in Pyeongchang . In the further course of the season he achieved third place over 10 km freestyle in Sapporo and won his first victories in the Far East Cup in Pyeongchang over 15 km freestyle and over 10 km classic. At the end of the season he won the overall ranking. He made his debut in the cross-country skiing world cup in Lillehammer in December 2015 and achieved 62nd place in the skiathlon . In the 2016/17 season he came eighth in the overall ranking of the Far East Cup. He finished third in the 15 km freestyle in Pyeongchang. He got his first World Cup points in February 2017 in Pyeongchang with 17th place in the skiathlon. In March 2018 he became the Japanese champion in the 10 km freestyle and skiathlon in Sapporo. In the 2018/19 season he achieved two third and three second places, fourth place in the overall ranking of the Far East Cup. At the 2019 World Championships in Seefeld in Tirol , he finished 56th in the skiathlon, 51st in the 50 km mass start race and 44th place over 15 km classic.
