The Kaindl Flooring OG is an Austrian family company based in Wals-Siezenheim , Salzburg. It is one of the world's leading companies for wood-based materials , laminate and wood flooring. The company started with the establishment of a sawmill in Lungötz . As early as 1962, they were one of the first companies to produce chipboard .

history

The company of M. Kaindl found its origin in Lungötz in 1897. There the sawmill quickly gained wide recognition as a specialist timber company.

In 1948 Kaindl started the industrial mass production of panel boards and plywood . After the Hüttau sawmill went into operation in 1954, which still exists today, the company's first chipboard plant was founded in Wals near Salzburg in 1959 . In 1982 the production of continuous laminates began.

1989 was an important event in the company's history. A devastating major fire almost completely destroyed the production facilities in Salzburg. The Kaindl Salzburg location is being rebuilt and modernized with an investment of around 150 million euros.

In 1999, after only 6 months of construction, an MDF plant was built on the company premises in Salzburg . A year later, the logistics center was built at the same location. The Kaindl Megastore ensures the smooth distribution of the company's entire warehouse range. It has a storage area of 40,000 m².

In 2003 the cargo shuttle service went into operation - train connection between the Wals and Lungötz plants. This means that a large part of the works traffic will be shifted to rail. However, Lungötz itself does not have a rail connection, which leads to an increased burden on the popular Lammertal holiday region from heavy truck traffic.

Another plant, the Kaindl Floor Factory, was opened in 2008, in which floors are manufactured using high-tech production systems. At the same time the Kaindl Floor House was opened, where you can buy the floors produced in the region.

Due to the common history and mutual holdings within the corporate network of the Kaindl family, the company is connected to the Swiss Krono Group and the Kronospan Group.
