The KaiserWerft is a boatyard that emerged from the Kaiserwerft in Saal an der Donau .

history

The Kaiserwerft was founded in 2003 from the insolvent company PR Marine of Peter Rammelmayr. The company, a manufacturer of luxury motor yachts, had around 150 employees.

From 2003 to 2008, Zahid Vohra, an Indian with British nationality, owned the company. He had bought up what was left of the previous company and, together with shipyard manager Erwin Schmid, delivered some super yachts such as the Catwalk , C'est La Vie and the Ocean Of Love . These yachts with GRP hulls gained international recognition.

The Kaiserwerft was considered one of the most exclusive in its branch. At the Boot industry exhibition in 2006, the Kaiserwerft exhibited the Catwalk, the largest yacht ever shown in a hall. A special feature of the company was that, according to its own statements, apart from large parts from suppliers such as the engines, it manufactured all parts itself in Germany or obtained them from Germany.

On November 24, 2008, Kaiserwerft filed for bankruptcy with the Regensburg district court. The lawyer Joachim Exner - a law firm from Regensburg specializing in insolvencies - was entrusted with the insolvency administration. The bankruptcy proceedings began on December 1, 2008. At the beginning of March 2009, the yard finally ended, as there was no investor who wanted to take over the insolvent company.

An investor not only bought tools and materials from the bankruptcy estate, but also forms and naming rights at the KaiserWerft auction. A new KaiserWerft was also built, which currently operates as a Swiss holding company. This group includes locations in Rostock, Istanbul and Dubai.
