history

The Dreikaiserdenkmal went back to a suggestion of the Wanner bailiff Friedrich Winter from the year 1896. The foundation stone was originally supposed to be laid on August 6, 1898. Because Prince Bismarck had died shortly before, the date was then postponed to August 20, 1898. It was also the 25th anniversary of the Bickern - Crange Warrior and Landwehr Association . After three years of construction, the 15-meter-high monument was unveiled on September 1, 1901 .

In its entirety the glorification of the Hohenzollern dynasty. imaginary system, originally represented a unit with the pond in front. The water jets gushed from the lateral lion heads into the fountain bowl and from there over a basin into the pond. When it was unveiled, three bronze reliefs were placed on the front, depicting Kaiser Wilhelm I , Kaiser Friedrich III. and represent Kaiser Wilhelm II . They were stolen in 1923 and their places remained empty. After the extensive renovation of the facility in 1988 and 1989, a warning board was installed in 1990, as the Wanne district council had previously requested.
