The Kalabond Oval is a sports stadium in Kokopo , East New Britain Province , Papua New Guinea . It is home to the Rabaul Gurias rugby league team, as well as the PNG Hunters and the Papua New Guinean national rugby league team, and has a capacity of 7,000. Other sources only speak of 3,000 places. It stands at the foot of an active volcano , the Tavurvur .
history
In 2013, the stadium hosted a game between the Papua New Guinean National Rugby League team and the Australian National Rugby League team . Possibly it became the home stadium of the PNG Hunters in the QLD Cup in 2014 . In October 2014, the stadium was home to the 2014 Oceania Women's Soccer Championship .
