Kallirrhoë (daughter of Lycus)

Kallirrhoë ( Greek  Καλλιρρόη , the beautiful flowing ) is a figure in Greek mythology . She is the daughter of the Libyan king Lykos .

Lykos sacrificed strangers who came to Libya, usually to his father, the god of war Ares . Even the Diomedes , who during his wanderings after the Trojan War ended in Libya should be given to this fate. Kallirrhoë, inflamed in love, freed the man who was bound, but Diomedes fled and left his savior behind. Out of lovesickness, Kallirrhoë hanged herself, who had betrayed her father for Diomedes.
