Arnsnesta village church

The village church Arnsnesta is a listed church building in Arnsnesta , a district of the city of Herzberg (Elster) in the district of Elbe-Elster ( Brandenburg ).

The church is located at the southern end of the Angerdorf . The current church building dates from the middle of the 17th century. It is the oldest half-timbered church in the former Herzberg district . The demanding church building testifies to the targeted resettlement efforts for the Arnsnesta, which was devastated in the Thirty Years War . The church tower was renewed in 1748. It received its current bonnet in 1910. The church patronage lay with the University of Wittenberg and its successor, the Wittenberg seminary . The current impression of the room is shaped by a renovation and new painting carried out in 1914/15 with symbols and Bible verses on the ceiling and the parapet of the surrounding gallery .

The oldest piece of equipment is a Renaissance - baptismal font of 1604 from the predecessor of the church Lebusa comes. The pulpit was subsequently placed over the altar , which thus became the pulpit altar . A crucifix to the north of it is from the second half of the 17th century. The organ was built in 1882 by Conrad Geißler from Eilenburg .

The village church belongs to the parish Schönewalde in the parish of Bad Liebenwerda of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
