Kalyvia ( Greek Καλύβια , ( n. Pl. )) Is the second largest town on the island of Skiathos after the main town . Kalyvia was recognized as a settlement of Skiathos Municipality in 1961, but abolished in 1971 and reassigned as a settlement in 2001. Kalyia is located in the interior of the island in the immediate vicinity of the Alexandros Papadiamantis airport . The small church Ekklisia Agios Ioannis Rosos and Agios Georgios belong to the place . The closest beaches are Glyfoneri and Lechouni , there are no roads to Megas Gialos Bay further north.
