Kampen kirke ( German  "Kampen Church" ) is a church building of the ( Lutheran ) Church of Norway in the municipality Stavanger in Fylke Rogaland in Norway .

History and description

In the 1950s, the parishes in Stavanger asked for more space in new premises and for another new church. Due to the very limited financial resources, it was decided not to build the church in the traditional style. The Kampen kirke was finally built in 1957 in the modern style by the Norwegian architect T. Bryne in reinforced concrete . The first renovation of the church took place in 1967. As a so-called long church ( Norwegian langkirke ), the building has a rectangular floor plan and has 280 seats.

Cultural monument

The Kampen Church in Stavanger has been registered as a cultural monument with the Riksantikvaren under number 84757 .
