Martial arts badge "Dynamo"

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The martial arts badge was a martial arts badge of the Ministry for State Security , the Ministry of the Interior and the Customs Administration of the German Democratic Republic , which was donated in 1972 in three stages. The individual steps could only be recognized by a small Roman number on the lower edge. The award was made to all relatives upon successful completion of the specified sports performance in five categories. These included

  • shoot
  • Shot put (optionally also pull-ups or weight lifting)
  • 400 meter storm run
  • 3000 meter run as well
  • Clothes swimming

First form

The first form of this badge, which was awarded from 1972 to 1985, shows a green enamelled clasp with the inscription: KAMPFSPORT with an embossed intermediate piece on which the flag of the GDR with the national coat of arms is depicted. Again stamped on this intermediate piece is a round medal, which is surrounded by a laurel-like structure. Filled in for the medal by a member of the armed organs of the GDR with a rifle in hand, who jumps over a bar obstacle with a moat. In the waves shown, the Roman numeral I for level I, II for level II and III for level III can be read. The same badge was awarded to the members of the MdI , mainly the People's Police , which shows a police star instead of the coat of arms of the GDR (see MdI martial arts badge )

Second form

The second form of the badge, which was introduced in 1986, underwent a radical change compared to its predecessor model. It now showed the symbol of the Dynamo sports association on a red background, the D of which was surrounded by a laurel wreath. The upper edge of the badge was formed by a stylized waving flag with the inscription: KAMPFSPORT . Both the D , the laurel wreath and the flag were in the color of the awarded level, bronze, silver or gold. The height of this badge was 35 mm and its width was also 35 mm (measured at the widest point). Finally, the badge was covered with polyester resin. The back of the badge is smooth and shows a horizontally soldered needle with a counter-hook.

In 1987 the badge was changed again. The shape remained the same, but the badge was only 31 mm. The outline of the flag, the branches of the lobster, and the inscription went black.
