The Kanadarenette or Canada-Reinette (also Sternrenette , Kaiserrenette , Weiberrenette , Pariser Ramburrenette , Dutch Renette , Lederrenette etc.) is an old cultivar of the cultivated apple ( Malus domestica ) that belongs to the group of Renetten .

The winter apple, which is very popular in the region, is believed to have originated in France or England - the first description was made in 1771 - and has become widespread.

The medium-sized to very large apples are ribbed somewhat irregularly and are round to slightly conical in shape. Their shell has a greenish-yellow to brownish-yellow basic color, which on the sunny side can take on an orange color. The shell is dry and rough and mostly has brown rusted lenticels . The fruits are ripe for picking in October and ready to eat from December to April. If stored very well, they can even last until May / June.

The fruits have a light yellow, aromatic pulp that becomes tender with increasing storage. Canadian nets are used as table apples , cooking apples and economic apples.

The tree grows strongly, forms a broad crown and requires moist, nutrient-rich and warm locations. Loamy soil is an advantage.
