Kanefer , also Ka-nefer , is the name of an ancient Egyptian official and high priest of Ptah during the Old Kingdom , who was active under King Sahure ( 5th Dynasty ).
His name appears on a group of statues depicting him and his family. They were acquired by the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth , Texas in 2005. Kanefer married a lady named Ti-en-Teti and had a son with her, Chui-Ptah . He held several high offices and functional titles , as high priest of Ptah in Memphis he carried the title of "Greatest Head of Craftsmen".
Kanefer's grave was probably discovered in Saqqara . The statues and other artifacts are now in the British Museum in London and in the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen .
