Kazuki Kaneshiro

Kazuki Kaneshiro ( Japanese 金城 一 紀 , Kaneshiro Kazuki ; born October 29, 1968 in Kawaguchi , Saitama Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese- Korean writer and screenwriter.

Life

Kaneshiro belongs to the Zainichi minority that remained in Japan after World War II . He obtained Japanese citizenship later in his life . His father was a Marxist-Leninist . Therefore, he first attended schools that sympathized with the Chongryon , the North Korean association of Koreans living in Japan. After his father later turned to the Mindan , the Korean association in Japan that sympathized with South Korea , he attended Hozen High School in the Shibuya district of Tokyo .

Kaneshiro graduated from Keiō University in Tokyo with a law degree .
