Cannons in the amusement park Liseberg ( Gothenburg , Sweden ) was a steel roller coaster from the model Accelerator Coaster from the manufacturer Intamin . It was operated from 2005 to the end of 2016 and replaced by " Valykria ".

history

In 2002 the park's only loop roller coaster, "HangOver", an Invertigo model by the manufacturer Vekoma , was dismantled and sold. Liseberg contacted some roller coaster manufacturers with the aim of getting different ideas for a new looping roller coaster presented. The Swiss manufacturer Intamin was awarded the contract. Lars-Erik Hedin, technical director of Liseberg, named "good experiences with Balder , which is also from Intamin" as one of the reasons for choosing the product.

In 2016 it was announced that cannons would be replaced by a roller coaster from the manufacturer Bollinger & Mabillard . The attraction was closed on December 30, 2016.

The successor is a dive coaster called "Valkyria" and opened on August 10, 2018.

layout

After leaving the station, the 16-passenger trains were catapulted onto a 24 m high top hat at a speed of 75 km / h . This was immediately followed by an airtime hill and a 20 m high loop , which was the first inversion of the track. After a steeply sloping curve, the trains put the final brake on a heartline roll .

Trains

Kanonen had two trains with four cars each. Four people could be seated in two rows in each car. Shoulder straps were used as a restraint system .
