Kantara , Greek Καντάρα Kandara ( f. Sg. ), Is a small mountain village in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus . The village is located in the İskele district on the Karpas peninsula near the medieval Kantara Castle in the Beşparmak Mountains . In the place is the profaned former monastery church Panagia Kantariotissa .
