The canton of Hildesheim existed from 1807 to 1813 in the Hildesheim district in the Oker department in the Kingdom of Westphalia and was formed by the Royal Decree of December 24, 1807. Due to the population density, it was formed solely by the city of Hildesheim, which was also the district capital. The city had several magistrates and adjuncts.
