The canton of Elze existed from 1807 to 1810 in the Hildesheim district in the Oker department in the Kingdom of Westphalia and was formed by the Royal Decree of December 24, 1807. On September 1, 1810, the canton ceased to exist in the department of the Oker, and was added to the northeastern parts of the Aller department .
