coat of arms

Coat of arms of Klein Escherde
Blazon : "On a golden escutcheon lie two upright red keys with beards pointing outwards."
Foundation of the coat of arms: The monastery founded in 1203 by Lippold von Escherde at his ancestral seat Groß Escherde was relocated to the village of Bovingehusen, today's House of Escherde, in 1236, where it existed until 1810. The coat of arms of its founder attached to the gates of the monastery is the basis for the coat of arms of the municipality of Klein-Escherde. The keys stand for the symbol of independence and responsibility for their management. The coat of arms was carried in the official seal of Klein Escherde until it was incorporated into Nordstemmen.
