The canton Obernkirchen was an administrative unit in the Kingdom of Westphalia , which existed from 1807 to 1813 and was formed by the Royal Decree of December 24, 1807. From 1807 to 1810 the canton belonged to the Minden district in the department of the Weser . He then came from July 19, 1810 to November 20, 1812 to the Aller department in the Hanover district and finally he was incorporated into the new Rinteln district in the Leine department , where he worked with the cantons of Hausberge and Obernkirchen on November 20, 1812 confirmed and its congregations rearranged. The canton did not change its cantonal division in 1812.
