The village Röhrkasten belongs to the city of Obernkirchen . Obernkirchen is located on the western slope of the Bückeberge in the heart of the Schaumburger Land in Lower Saxony . Röhrkasten is about 200 m above sea level and houses around 310 residents.
history
The village of Röhrkasten goes back to an aristocratic court belonging to the “Rotherkissen” (also “Rorekersen”, “Rorekessen”, “Rorkarssen”). A document from 1185 proves the earlier existence. Over the centuries other farms and craftsmen have settled around this noble court. This is how the village Röhrkasten came into being over the centuries.
As part of the Lower Saxony regional reform, the previously independent municipality Röhrkasten was incorporated into the city of Obernkirchen on March 1, 1974.
