Borstel is a district of the municipality Auetal in the district of Schaumburg in Lower Saxony .

The floodplain , also called the Bückeburger floodplain , flows through Borstel ; it is fed by numerous streams and flows into the Weser .

The district roads K 68 and K 69 run through Borstel . The A 2 runs south in a distance of 1.5 km.

North of Borstel is the about 5  ha large nature reserve Old clay pit Borstel .

history

Borstel was persecuted by witches from 1552 to 1655 : two people got into witch trials and were burned.

On March 1, 1974, TSV 1399 Borstel became German wide-spitting champions for the first time.
