The village of Schoholtensen is part of the Auetal municipality in the Schaumburg district of Lower Saxony . It is located in the northeast of this municipality on the edge of the Bückeberge and has about 100 inhabitants.

In Schoholtensen, the Schoholtensen / Altenhagen volunteer fire brigade provides fire protection and general help. There is also the local rifle club from 1926.

history

On March 1, 1974, the four small communities (each with a little over 100 inhabitants at the time) Altenhagen , Klein Holtensen , Schoholtensen and Wiersen were merged to form the new community of Schoholtensen. However, this only lasted for a short time in this new design. On April 1, 1974, it was merged with Hattendorf , Rehren and Rolfshagen to form the new municipality of Auetal.
