Rennerod canton

The canton Rennerod was an administrative unit in the Grand Duchy of Berg .

The Grand Duchy of Berg initially took over the organization of offices in Nassau-Orange . With an edict of November 14, 1808, the Rennerod office was dissolved and the Rennerod canton was formed instead. He was part of the higher arrondissement Dillenburg in the department of victory .

The canton Rennerod consisted of the Mairien (mayor's offices) Rennerod, Marienberg, Höhn and Emmerichhain. With an edict of November 17, 1811, Westerburg and Gemünden from the canton of Westerburg were assigned to the canton of Rennerod.

In December 1813, the Orange hereditary lands were returned to Nassau-Orange. The canton Rennerod now formed the Rennerod office again.
