Pulpit (cousolre)

Pulpit in Cousolre

The pulpit in the Catholic Church of St-Martin in Cousolre , a French parish in the Nord department in the Hauts-de-France region , was created in the third quarter of the 17th century. In 1981 the pulpit was added to the list of listed buildings ( Base Palissy ) in France as Monument historique .

The foot of the 2.48 meter high wooden pulpit is formed by a carved figure of a man with a beard (presumably Moses ). The pentagonal pulpit is richly decorated with mascarons and plant motifs. The pulpit wall is decorated with a cartouche with knots framed by two angels.

The stairs and the sound cover as well as the tablets of the law of Moses are missing.
