Kaoru Yamamoto

Kaoru Yamamoto ( Japanese 山 本 薫 , Yamamoto Kaoru ; * 1970 in Toyama , Japan ) is a Japanese violinist living in Germany.

Life

Kaoru Yamamoto received her first violin lessons at the age of five. She completed her studies at the State University of Music in Tokyo with Takaya Urakawa and Bela Katona, then advanced and soloist studies in Munich and Freiburg with Kurt Guntner and Nicolas Chumachenco . She passed all exams with distinction.

The state of Baden-Württemberg made a violin by Lorenzo Guadagnini (1685–1746) available to her during her studies.

Extensive concert activities as a soloist with international orchestras such as the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra , the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra or the State Chamber Orchestra of Slovakia as well as chamber music with world-famous partners such as B. Radovan Vlatković , Thomas Brandis , Ulf Rodenhäuser and Martin Ostertag took them to the most important cities and concert halls such as Munich (Herkulessaal, Philharmonie am Gasteig), Stuttgart (Liederhalle), Tokyo (Casals-Hall) and Paris (Fontainebleau).

There are CD productions with works by Bach, Mozart, Ysaÿe and Martinů.

Kaoru Yamamoto is a lecturer for master classes in Germany and Japan.

Kaoru Yamamoto was u. a. Awarded prizes in the following competitions:

  • 2nd prize Viotti competition in Vercelli / Italy
  • 2nd prize competition of the Lion's Club
  • 2nd Prize Japanese University Competition
  • Brahms Prize of the Brahms Competition in Pörtschach / Austria
  • Fukushima Prize in Tokyo 1988

She also reached the semifinals of the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow and was honored as the most successful citizen of Toyama / Japan.

The media echo is very positive all over the world, for example Kaoru Yamamoto was described by the Süddeutsche Zeitung as a “miracle of naturalness” and as a “world-famous artist”.
