Ulf Huppert

Ulf Huppert (born March 12, 1943 in St. Ingbert ; † September 9, 2019 ) was a German politician ( FDP / DPS ). From 2008 to 2009 he was acting director of the Saarbrücken regional association .

Life

Huppert studied law and initially worked as a judge at the Saarbrücken regional court and later as a lawyer . As a lecturer at the Saarland Administration School, he taught local law , and since 1996 he has held training seminars for the Saarbrücken, Zweibrücken and Koblenz bar associations .

He had been a member of the FDP since 1964. From 1977 to 1982 Huppert was first alderman and then mayor of Sulzbach until 1992 . He stood in September 1998 in the first direct election as President of the Saarbrücken City Association (since 2008: Regional Association Director) and received 5.1 percent of the vote. After the resignation of city association president Michael Burkert , Huppert was appointed in November 2007 by the city association as its transitional successor. He held the office from January 1, 2008 until the newly elected Peter Gillo ( SPD ) was introduced on August 10, 2009.

During the formation of the black-yellow-green Müller III cabinet in 2009, Huppert was discussed as Minister of Health. After the resignation of the Saarland FDP chairman Christoph Hartmann in November 2010, Huppert was acted as his successor.
