The Cape Beck is a well-rounded rocks cape , which is the southernmost island landmark of Black Iceland in the Ross Archipelago represents.
Participants of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1958-1959) named it after the New Zealand geologist Alan Copland Beck, who led the team that explored Black Island on this research trip.
