The Cape Evensen is a cape at the Graham Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . As one of the foothills of the Strescher Peninsula , it marks the northern limit of the entrance from Crystal Sound to Auvert Bay .
It was discovered during the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903-1905) under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Charcot . It is named after the Norwegian Karl Julius Evensen (1851-1937), who explored the coast of Grahamland as captain of the Hertha between 1893 and 1894 to develop new whaling grounds.
